Whole-Home Standby Power

When the grid goes down, nothing in your house notices.

Getting It Right

What a standby system actually needs

The right size, calculated not guessed

Oversizing wastes thousands; undersizing means the generator trips when the A/C starts. A real load calculation is the difference, and it belongs in the permit set.

A properly rated transfer switch

A service-entrance rated switch is what lets the generator back the whole house safely. It also determines whether you need a service split.

Gas coordination

Natural gas or propane, sized for the run and the demand. An undersized gas line is a common reason a new generator underperforms.

Load management for big draws

EV charging, electric heat, a spa — smart load management lets a smaller generator carry the house instead of buying a bigger one.

The Process

Sized, permitted, installed, commissioned

  1. Load calculation and sizing

We calculate what the house actually draws and what has to run during an outage. That decides the unit — not a catalog table.

  2. Permit drawings, in-house

Power riser and load calculation produced by us as electrical contractor of record. No engineering fee and no dealer markup.

  3. Service split and transfer switch

Where the design calls for it, we split the service and set a service-entrance rated transfer switch so the whole house is backed.

  4. Install, gas and pad

Unit set, gas coordinated and connected, conductors run, load management configured for the loads that need it.

  5. Commissioning and warranty

We start it, run it under load, walk you through the exercise schedule, and activate the warranty ourselves. No third-party handoff.

Why Direct

What you save going through the electrical contractor

No engineering fee

The power riser and the load calculation come from us as contractor of record. On a dealer install that is a separate line item.

No dealer markup

Buying through a dealer network adds a margin on top of the unit and the labor. We install as the licensed electrical contractor, directly.

One party responsible

Sizing, permit, install, gas coordination, commissioning and warranty activation — all from us. When something needs attention, there is nobody to point at.

Questions

What people ask before they call

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what has to run during an outage. A recent whole-home install we did is a 24kW natural-gas Generac backing an entire home including EV charging and a spa. Yours could be smaller. The load calculation decides.

Natural gas or propane?

Natural gas if you have a line — no tank, no refueling. Propane where gas isn’t available. Either way, the line has to be sized for the demand, which is a common miss.

Do I need a bigger electrical service?

Sometimes. A service split with a service-entrance rated transfer switch is often the cleaner answer. The load calculation tells us before you commit.

Who handles the warranty?

We do. We commission the unit and activate the warranty directly, so there’s no dealer between you and the manufacturer.

Will it run my EV charger and A/C together?

With smart load management, usually yes — the system sheds the charger while the A/C starts. That’s exactly the setup on our recent Tampa install.

"It’s hard to find reliable service these days, and this company exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for anyone needing electrical work done. Edgar and his team completed the job efficiently and cleaned up afterward."
